Had a wonderful time at the Portland Book Festival again this year! (2023)
The first weekend in November, I attended the Portland Book Festival and had an amazing time meeting new readers and connecting with current fans. This was my third year at the festival and as such I had a few repeat visitors from years previous which was extremely rewarding to put faces to active readers of my work. At the same time, I wish I had my completed titles like book 8 of The Unaltered Series and book 2 of Lost Crown, but I didn’t.
The last few years have been difficult for everyone, no doubt. My struggles with creativity due to illness, stress, exhaustion, and loss have frustratingly bumped back release dates. However (at least in my mind,) the heavy clouds of the pandemic are thinning, allowing more hope and optimism into the world, and that’s good. With that, events like the Portland Book Festival have returned to full capacity.
What is the Portland Book Festival? This event is organized by Literary Arts and is a two-day event with a Friday night book market and a full-day lineup on Saturday with guest author speakers and workshops for readers and authors alike. The book marketplace is open all day. I had a booth in the marketplace with my printed titles for sale along with some diamond-related merchandise. Visit my store to see my current titles available.
Each year at the festival keeps getting better and better! I’m hoping to attend in 2024 as well, so mark your calendar for the first Saturday in November. I hope to see you there!
